I stand out as a marketer by not only capturing attention, but keeping it.

Let me introduce myself! My name is Mattie Whitaker. I am a Business Administration student at Southeastern Louisiana University and a sales associate at Au Darling. Au Darling is a women’s boutique in Mandeville, Louisiana, and I have been working there for over five years. Something that makes me unique is my style. I have always loved fashion, and my job at Au Darling allows me to have fun with clothes while also improving my marketing and sales skills. Another hobby that I adore is traveling. I have traveled to more than 15 countries and plan to go to many more! One of my favorite trips was to Lebanon with my boyfriend. He is Lebanese, so it was wonderful to experience his culture and meet his relatives. Something interesting about me is that I have anxiety. Nevertheless, I always push myself to pursue new experiences and not allow my persistent feelings of worry to get in the way.

 

I have always loved social media, as I think it is a fabulous way to connect with people. The first social media account I made was Instagram when I was in third grade. The username I chose at the time was “mattiemoonshine,” and it is still my username to this day. Most people in my hometown actually call me that instead of my real name! Furthermore, my favorite show is Sex and the City, and just like Carrie Bradshaw, I have a serious case of main character syndrome. Although I am a realistic person when necessary, I love to romanticize life. The best advice I have ever been given is something my boyfriend tells me every time I feel anxious about something. He says, “If it is to be, it is up to me!”
